Uniheat shipping warmers should not be placed directly next to livestock, but attached to the inner of the shipping container lid with tape prior to closing.
Placing the shipping warmer directly against a tropical fish bag or close to reptiles and other animals, crustaceans, inverts or fauna, may result in over heating of the specimen, ultimately resulting in discomfort or death.
It is important to carry out your own tests on your prefered packaging method prior to shipping your livestock to evaluate the number of shipping warmers required to sustain your desired in box temperature during transit in the current weather conditions.
Please do not attempt to ship tropical fish and reptiles in cardboard boxes during cold weather, use a proper polystyrene shipping carton with cardboard outer.

It is recommended that for newcomers to livestock shipping that a mock trial is carried out within the proposed shipping carton(s) over the expected shipping time duration, in order to make sure that your chosen packaging technique is satisfactory before shipping any livestock.
Depending on container size, livestock or fauna temperature needs, and packaging material, more then one warmer may be required.
All air activated shipping warmers require oxygen to work at the correct temperature, if insufficient oxygen is available within the shipping carton, the shipping warmer will eventually expire, only to reheat after the carton is opened.
In the case of shipping reptiles, the shipping carton should be vented with holes pierced through the carton and any cardboard outer to allow proper ventilation for the shipping warmer and allow oxygen for the well being of the reptile.
Heavily laden tropical fish cartons with a small internal air gap or tight fitting lids, will also require a 5mm vent hole in the shipping carton lid to provide sufficient oxygen to the shipping warmer(s) during transit.
